I love love love essential oils, so naturally I am going to share about my friend Vanessa's at C U L T I V I E on Facebook's product. She has some awesome tips on natural healthcare geared especially for women.
If you're looking for a natural, health-boosting, life enhancing and eco-friendly way of taking care of your body and home, you've got to check out Purly Grown Essential Oils. They're actually having a promotion right now for 50% off. So, hurry!
I use essential oils all the time. I use various blends for deodorant, for different body aches, for teeth brushing, for laundry, for home made disinfectant sprays, diffusing them in your home, for the animals (you have to make sure you do research on this one) and a plethora of other uses!
For thousands of years, essential oils have enhanced the lives of many by providing a variety of benefits ranging from cosmetic and dietary purposes to spiritual and religious use. Essential oils can have a positive impact on your emotional well-being, physical health, and spiritual wellness.
Purly Grown Essential Oils has a the following scents: Peppermint, Lavender, Tea Tree, Grapefruit, Lemon, and Eucalyptus.
Check them out!
Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) essential oil has been used for centuries for it's calming effect, fresh, floral, and clean scent. It was used in Ancient Egypt and Rome as perfume, for bathing and even cooking. The calming properties help bring balance to your environment. It is widely used for helping some go to sleep. I use it on my pillow or my kids pillows. Not only does it help ease feelings of tension, but can also be used as an antibacterial ingredient.
Lavender contains a chemical called Linalool which is highly effective for reducing sadness and anxiety.
I am going to give away a huge secret here! Have you ever been so dissatisfied with your deodorant, especially after spending so much money on different types of highly recommended ones? Well, I have! I would buy expensive, fancy deodorants and end up feeling super jipped because it wouldn't even be an hour and I'd start noticing the funky smell. My chemistry was just not blending well with those different products.
One day, I saw a recipe online (I don't remember where now), where you only needed a few ingredients to make your own homemade deodorant. I played around with it and came up with my own blend. This stuff is all natural, can be organic (if you use solely organic products), is aluminum free, smells delicious and your skin will thank you!
Okay, so you know how Amazon is the go-to site for online shopping and streaming free movies - if you're a Amazon Prime member!
Recently, the e-commerce giant Amazon bought Whole Foods ... Not sure how long they've been doing it, but Amazon you can now order organic groceries online, with just one click! Very convenient for those who want to avoid large crowds and long lines. Worth checking it out!
At first I was a little bit of a skeptic. I made sure to spend some time reading the Amazon product reviews and then finally decided to give it a try. I have to say, I am quite impressed. In the past I used to struggle a lot with acne. It scarred up my face a bit. There were times I felt really embarrassed about them and felt I had to cover them up with make-up. I was afraid that people would judge me from my appearance. Then I started noticing the true beauty within. Anyways, long story short - I love taking care of my skin regardless. So, I tried this product until it ran out and noticed:
USDA Organic Black Seed Oil
I was on YELP one day looking at reviews for some ACAI place in Miami. There was this guy on there - a seasoned Yelp user who's comment made me laugh. I started following him because he had so many reviews, I actually found them really helpful. One of his reviews was about Black Cumin Seed oil. He had tried it and it according to the popular saying, "it cures everything but death" - he saw amazing results.
But this particular version! It's my go-to bottle! This is the review I left on Amazon:
"OMG - this one is the best version I've had so far. It is also the most pungent tasting and leaves that aftertaste (I squeeze raw honey into my mouth right after) - but SOOOO WORTH it. Cumin Seed oil in the recent past has helped me from acne breakouts on my face (other versions).
Then I started juicing celery daily - that's helped maintain a clear complexion. But this stuff - OH MY! I had been battling a cold and when this arrived, I decided to take it twice a day. Wow! The cold has been clearing up and I've been able to sleep better at night because the oil helped keep my coughs at bay! So hallelujah for this version of Cumin Seed oil! Thank you!!!"
Pineapple Smoothie Recipe:
3-4 Chunks of ripe pineapple
1 TB Nutiva Organic Hemp Protein Powder
1/2 Cup of coconut water or milk
1 ripe banana
1/2 cup of wild blueberries
Blend it all up and you've got yourself an amazing and refreshing smoothie!
One day, at Whole Foods I came across Sambazon Organic Amazon Energy drink.
OH MY FREAKING GOODNESS! Talk about the proverbial Jungle Love in your mouth. What an energy booster!
What I love about this drink:
Some might find it a tad sweet - I'm not one for sweet drinks so I think it's great!
I just have to share this awesome, legit (yes, it's not spyware or anything crazy like that) extension that can you add to Chrome while online shopping. It's called HONEY! I've saved while shopping on Sephora's, Amazon, Go Daddy and many others.
If you are like me, you might not be too excited about your power bill. FPL is making some $ mula $ off my household. Those of you who live down south can attest to this. Can I get an AMEN?!
So, here is another way to help the environment and save on those ghastly high electric bills. Check out Green Living Kit's website. They can help you save lots of money! Or simply:
I can't say how grateful I am for this awesome Throat Soothing Tea! This tea has come in handy on many an occasion. Mostly for me, when I'm singing. If I'm about to go on a gig, I make sure to brew myself some and place it in my thermos!
Naturally caffeine free, its main ingredients are slippery elm bark (amazing for singers) and mullein, that are combined for their usefulness in soothing minor throat irritation. It also contains wild cherry bark and licorice root which have soothing effects in addition to their sweet flavor.
Whenever I feel a sore throat coming on, this is the tea to drink. It also lasts for years! Yup, I bought mine years ago and I still have some in my tea cabinet. I love tea! Must be that East African side of me!
